The perfect relationship between form and function mated with a bike, and a scooter, and the motivation of an athlete who could not endure the strains of running anymore. Hannu Vierikko of Finland wanted something different, and in late 1990’s he cobbled together a version of what you see here. Whether we call it a Footbike, a Kickbike, a Scooter, a Chariot, or a Scoobcyle, we all say the same thing after we finish a half hour scoot on the Footbike ..Wow!

The Footbike is the genius of the minds of Footbike Europe  and Optima Cycles, pioneers in the human powered vehicle market over the last decade. They have selected frame materials and components for their optimal durability and functionality. And if any of the very few parts on your Footbike ever need attention, then all of the components can be found at your local bike shop or Footbike retailer.

Out of the box or off of the showroom floor the Footbike is ready to ride. The geometries are adjustable and fit nearly everyone from the moment they step onto the machine. The frame design has been adjusted and aligned to give both the recreational rider and the outright racer a platform to which to work from. Whether you are female or male over 6’5” or under 4’0”, we can make the Footbike comfortable for you!
