It is going to happen! Yes, behind the ugliest street in Boulder-28th-what else? One can have a sneak preview of a fabulous new cruising trail behind the world of car commerce! Elmer’s 2 Mile Trail (Iris-Goose Creek Trail) is just about to open! It will give the Boulder cyclist a new north-south route just west of a traditionally challenging place to bike in town.

The new route will provide easy access for cyclists to go shopping along this corridor which has always missed the calmness of Boulder. This undoubtedly will be on the Boulder 360 (Circle Boulder) course; held every June to explore the great paths of Boulder!

Imagine having a reserved parking spot for your car? No, not for your bike, but that also exists right here to. We are talking about members of eGo Carshare who now have an outstanding permanent parking spot behind the Tea House at 15th and Canyon.

Recognize now how easy the City of Boulder, eGo Carshare and our bike infrastructure has made it for you to step into a very car-LIGHT routine if you live or work downtown or in neighboring Goss Grove! With the RTD (14th & Walnut) Station in the background it begins to be clear how shaping the downtown region as a community will be designed. You can come and go much easier for those who don’t want to choke on the expense of owning, parking, fueling, insuring, and paying for a piece of machinery that is driven 2 out of 24 hours a day on average!

Ok, nobody is perfect when trying to live a net zero lifestyle. However here in Boulder we have a way of making sure other people are getting out of their cars, riding a bike and taking the bus. This is a major crock for many in the environmental community! I recently saw a world-FAMOUS person speak about energy use and efficiencies thru natural processes. Great, another good informative speech that usually motivates us and gives us a introspective on our own lives! Wow! Out of about 100 or so people who attended only a few people bothered to wheel up to the event on their own power. The rest ASSUMED the car rolled and the petro was plenty!

You know it is a multi-million dollar biz parking cars….That cave for cars, good homes for our cars, what an overkill of parking in our cities. Try this one out, it is the NEW B-cycle in downtown Denver! I experienced it today, and it was Smoother than a fresh glaze of icing on a birthday cake.

Take a look at how we grew up and continue to think is normal parking:

Now can you imagine covered parking and Royal treatment for our bikes! Check this out in Denver!

Since I joined the Bike Club (b-cycle) on line the other day, today was the day to let her rip! I joined for only $65 for the year. It will be easy to remember since I joined on Earth Day ’10! I slid my credit card in the ATM looking device and it recognized me and told me what bike to get as it automatically released one. Then I grabbed Numeral 5 Bike located at the Market Street Station, and off I went to pay a visit to Five Points to see the exhibit on Negro Baseball League History.Unfortunately, at 24th and Welton there is no bike station so I had to use my own lock.

The bike it self is very sturdy, comfortable, and has good braking. Each one of the bikes also have a nice basket and I thought they were great! I left my bike at another downtown location after I had a fabulous Burger at H Burger. What a fantastic burger joint! If you live in Denver, think about joining this bike club. It is easy and will only grow with popularity as people begin to recognize what type of parking is easier to obtain!

Today, like most days I wonder how I can place the Earth at the top of my list. Can I pick up some trash along my favorite bike route, eat a lettuce whopper, or join a bike club! I decided I would join the b-cycle club out of Denver.

I actually live in Boulder, but how could I resist the chance to join one of the first bikeshare clubs in the US? I already am well established in the carshare club, so I thought that if I added this membership, I would be able to enjoy them both. So make sure you check out the new merging of these clubs into the future in Boulder and Denver!
